A visionary collaboration between EME 157 Architecture and Luman Edificación y Restauración S.L.

We are proud to present The Grass Home, a residence that redefines standards of sustainability, design, and functionality in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama. This innovative project combines construction expertise with environmentally conscious architecture that is adaptable and highly efficient.

🏡 Smart and adaptable design

Designed to evolve with its inhabitants, The Grass Home offers an open, bright layout with flexible partition options, hidden installations, and high-quality finishes. The home is delivered with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and modular wardrobes by CUBRO, allowing customization to fit each family’s needs.

🔆 Year-round thermal comfort

Incorporates passive bioclimatic architectural strategies:

– Large south-facing windows to capture light and heat in winter

– Eaves designed to block sun in summer

– Efficient façades adapted to each orientation

🏗️ Innovative construction

The house adapts to the natural slope with two solutions:

Semi-buried ground floor made of reinforced concrete panels with expanded polystyrene core

Elevated upper floor with a lightweight structure clad in natural materials: cork, wood, and rock wool

♻️ Sustainability without compromising design

Highly energy-efficient materials, integration with the mountain environment, pre-installation for solar panels, and a heat pump system with radiant cooling and heating floors.

📍 Strategic location

Just 30 minutes from Madrid, with views of the Monastery of El Escorial and access to train and bus stations. Close to Cercedilla, Navacerrada, Villalba, and Valdesquí ski resort.
